FireTracker ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

The short version: Your financial data never leaves your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal financial information.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

All financial data you enter into FireTracker — including account names, holdings, values, net worth snapshots, and FIRE settings — is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data:

Never leaves your device
Is not transmitted to any server
Is not backed up to our servers (though it may be included in your iCloud or iTunes backups, which are controlled by you and Apple)
Is deleted when you delete the app

We have no ability to access, view, or recover your financial data.

2. Third-Party Price Data

When you link a holding to receive automatic price updates, the app makes direct requests from your device to:

Yahoo Finance (query2.finance.yahoo.com) — for stock, ETF, and cryptocurrency prices
Morningstar (tools.morningstar.co.uk) — for OEIC and unit trust prices
Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev) — for currency exchange rates from the European Central Bank

These requests are made directly from your device. We do not proxy, log, or monitor these requests. The ticker symbols and ISINs you look up are sent to these services as part of standard API calls. Please refer to each service's own privacy policy for how they handle API requests.

3. Anonymous Analytics

We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and improve the app. TelemetryDeck:

Does not collect personal information
Does not use advertising identifiers
Does not track individual users
Uses a privacy-first approach that is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and Apple's App Tracking Transparency requirements

Examples of anonymous signals we collect: app launched, tab switched, FIRE calculation run, subscription purchased. We never collect financial values, account names, holding names, or any data you enter.

4. Subscriptions

In-app subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2. We do not collect or store any payment information. Subscription management (renewal, cancellation) is handled through your Apple ID settings. See Apple's subscription support page for details.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

Names, email addresses, or contact information
Financial account numbers, bank details, or credentials
Location data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Browsing history
Your financial data (values, holdings, net worth)

6. Children's Privacy

FireTracker is not directed at children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Data Retention

Since all financial data is stored locally on your device, you control its retention. Deleting the app removes all data. Anonymous analytics data held by TelemetryDeck is aggregated and cannot be linked to individual users.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete. Your on-device data is fully under your control.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
